SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci made statements about CRPT, the firm’s cryptocurrency-focused exchange-traded fund (ETF). While Scaramucci shared both the fund’s performance and his predictions about the future of cryptocurrencies, he also made remarkable evaluations about stablecoin regulations and altcoin ETFs, which are on the agenda in Washington. CRPT does not invest directly in digital assets, but in stocks of companies integrated into the crypto ecosystem. “This fund was created four years ago, at a time when there were no Bitcoin ETFs, to offer our clients an investment vehicle with a high correlation to Bitcoin,” Scaramucci said. The SkyBridge manager noted that some consulting companies still have difficulty investing in Bitcoin. Stating that Bitcoin losing its correlation with classic technology stocks over time and starting to act like gold is an important threshold, Scaramucci commented, “When Bitcoin reaches one billion wallets from 300 million wallets, its volatility will decrease and more institutional investors will enter. This will create a positive cycle.” According to Scaramucci, the big question is: Is Bitcoin an investment or an asset class in its own right? If it were simply an investment vehicle, a market cap of $1-3 trillion would be reasonable. But if it were an asset class like gold, a market cap of $20 trillion could be targeted. Scaramucci, who also evaluated the stablecoin bill in the US Congress, said that this law is important for the country to maintain its financial leadership: “Companies that issue stablecoins hold a huge amount of US Treasury bonds. Tether owns more bonds than Japan and Germany. Therefore, clarification of regulations is critical for both the market and the state.” Scaramucci said the restrictions on the Trump family may not be constitutionally possible, but called for transparency to avoid political controversy. Sharing his views on altcoins, Scaramucci particularly focused on Solana. “There is a Solana ETF called SolQ on the market, and as SkyBridge, we have invested in this ETF and we find Solana’s staking feature quite attractive,” he said. Scaramucci also said that other projects like Avalanche and Polkadot also have ETF potential, but Solana stands out at the moment. *This is not investment advice.
