Segundo a CoinDesk, a empresa de custódia de criptomoedas Copper busca vender a companhia por uma avaliação de aproximadamente US$ 500 milhões e contratou o banco de investimentos de Wall Street Cantor Fitzgerald para ajudar a avançar com a transação.

O principal ativo da Copper é o sistema de liquidação de custódia ClearLoop, que auxilia clientes institucionais a concluir entregas contra pagamento (DvP) sem colocar ativos on-chain, eliminando efetivamente o risco de liquidação. A empresa possui atualmente mais de 1.000 contrapartes ativas, com um volume de negociação nominal superior a US$ 50 bilhões por mês.

A Copper havia considerado anteriormente uma oferta pública inicial (IPO), mas devido aos preços estagnados do Bitcoin e ao efeito de absorção de capital do setor de IA, o mercado geral de IPOs de cripto entrou em modo de espera.
