BlockBeats News, 5 de dezembro, o protocolo de stablecoin descentralizado USPD anunciou que encontrou uma grave vulnerabilidade de segurança. O invasor explorou a técnica "CPIMP (Contract Proxy Inherit Proxy) Attack" para assumir preventivamente os direitos de administrador do contrato proxy durante a fase de implantação. O invasor disfarçou-se como uma versão auditada e permaneceu à espreita por meses antes de iniciar o ataque, criando cerca de 98 milhões de tokens USPD e roubando cerca de 232 tokens stETH.
A equipe do USPD afirmou que este incidente não ocorreu devido a uma falha na lógica do smart contract. Eles relataram os endereços relevantes para as principais exchange de criptomoedas centralizadas para congelar os fundos. Eles também mencionaram que, se o invasor devolver 90% dos ativos roubados, poderá manter 10% como recompensa por bug.
